Position Summary:

We are seeking to hire a skilled and experienced Chef to join our culinary team. The Chef will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring the highest quality of food and service. The ideal candidate should have a passion for culinary arts, exceptional culinary skills, and the ability to lead and inspire a team. The Chef should also stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative techniques and ingredients into the menu.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and develop menus that are innovative, diverse, and aligned with customer preferences, dietary restrictions, and seasonal availability.
  • Oversee food preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality.
  • Lead and manage a team of kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling, to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow.
  • Collaborate with restaurant management to set and achieve financial goals, control food costs, and maintain profitability.
  • Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed, while minimizing waste and ensuring freshness of ingredients.
  • Monitor food safety and sanitation practices to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Stay updated on culinary trends, techniques, and industry developments, and incorporate new ideas into menu planning and food preparation.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and professional growth among kitchen staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment and utensils, ensuring proper functioning and coordinating repairs or replacements as necessary.
  • Participate in special events, catering services, and menu tastings, as required.
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to ensure smooth coordination between the kitchen and the dining area.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including dress code, attendance, and punctuality

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a Chef
  • In-depth knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and food preparation methods.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high culinary standards.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations and the ability to enforce them.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and delivering quality results.
  • Creativity and a passion for culinary arts, with a willingness to experiment with new ingredients and techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with staff, management, and customers.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: ₦80,000.00 per month
