SUMMARY:
Primarily responsible for driving AHF Vehicles and ensure that they are always kept in a good state and have undergone all necessary services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure on time transportation of laboratory specimens from the clinic and other clinics to the main laboratory at the hospital as well as other private laboratories and maintain safety standards during transportation of drugs and laboratory specimens
- Ensure on time delivery of drugs from PMSC to the main clinic as assigned, as well as from the main clinic to the down referral clinics.
- Transport laboratory results from the main laboratory to the relevant clinics, on time.
- Responsible for transporting AHF guests to and from the airport and have a welcome talk during the trip.
- Drive AHF South Africa staff to and from the airport, health facilities, meetings, and functions
- Always drives safely and responsibly. Must be knowledgeable about and complies with SA driving / traffic and parking rules & regulations. Never drives the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Observes the non-smoking rules and mobile phone usage in the vehicle, always.
- Maintains cleanliness of the vehicle, including daily clean inside and weekly (minimum) car wash.
- Maintains vehicle in good mechanical order and completes and submit weekly log sheets to support this.
- Reports damages and arranges any repairs and replacements immediately with the Regional Operations Manager
- Maintains vehicle logbook, accounting for all mileage and fuel consumption costs. Minimizes fuel cost and does not permit anyone to drive the vehicle, unless authorized to do so;
- Transports teams for home visits, tracking and research activities
- Maintains safety standards during transportation of drugs and laboratory specimen
- Ensure that the vehicle under his/her care is secured from loss or damage at all times;
- Ensure that the vehicles are up to date with all license registrations
- Performs other duties as assigned.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be fluent in English
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to deal with a ‘difficult client’.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Grade 12/ Matric
- Valid code 10 Drivers Licence
- Must have Valid PDP
- Must have minimum 5 years driving experience with a reputable company
