Responsibilities

  • Prepare calculations on the proposed machines, structures, facilities. Calculate and analyze things like capacity, dimensions, thermal, power, and structural to make effective designs.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and monitor the introduction of production equipment and facilities, from the initial conception, planning, to the final completion, commissioning, permits and hand-over.
  • Provide support during the manufacturing and installation process. Make sure equipment and facilities on a given project is constructed and installed properly and according to design specifications.
  • Monitor the compliance to ensure that industry codes and regulations are adhered to, technical specifications are met.
  • Participant in the planning and forecasting of budgets and timelines of the entire project.
  • Perform checks and inspections throughout all stages of the introduction period to ensure the equipment and facilities be completed to a high standard, and budgets are kept, deadlines are met.
  • Track the progress, coordinate contractors, engineers on process improvements, participate in devising technical solutions to the issues that are causing quality defects, delays and monitor the implementation of these solutions.
  • Work closely with global engineering team to assess and translate the needs from process, production and other related functions into specifications, designs. Oversee product blueprint design.
  • Develop technical drawings, 3D schematics, and CAD models. Typically use AutoCAD software to sketch and draw up designs.
  • Participate in test runs for functionality before completion. Identify defects and participate in developing solutions and implementation to eliminate those defects.
  • Establish and maintain documentation related to production equipment and facilities projects, including specification, design, permits, budgetary documents, manufacture, installation, commissioning and hand-over etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in mechanical, process equipment engineering or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Min 8 years’ experience in mechanical, engineering in the petroleum or chemical industry; Familiar with structure, electrical & Instrument, plumbing, HVAC system is preferred.
  • Skilled use of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office software. Familiar with Microsoft Project software is preferred.
  • Project management experience. Adept at spotting potential problems and finding appropriate solutions.
  • Knowing equipment safety systems and processes. Knowledge in PSM (Process Safety Management) is preferred.
  • Have an eye for good and state-of-the-art design.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic problem-solvers with strong attention to detail.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team spirit and coordination skill.
  • Good communication skill.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Be willing to travel or relocate.
  • Good command of English – oral and written.
